This film tells the hauntingly beautiful tale of a young Buddhist monk's struggle between body and soul, desire and spirituality. In both Hindu and Buddhist traditions, 'Samsara' is the cycle of rebirth, the daily experience of longings and fears we are all familiar with. After 29 years of struggle the Buddha, through enlightenment, is said to have found the path to transcend this cycle. A young monk named Tashi, who has lived a monastic life since the age of five, is brought back to his ancient monastery after three years of solitary meditation.
